review 1: First of all, thank you for the ebook it was a fun light paranormal romance. It is a good book for the beach or traveling. That being said, I would have enjoyed a prologue to explain the back history of the characters. The explanation given did not really make too much sense. I detect a mystery surrounding Jade's mother. Shouldn't her aunt know more about the disappearance? There also seems to be more going on with Dan's character- possible possession? There is so much missing and yet it was fun and I did enjoy the book. I would like to read a second book to see if she clears up all the missing information, and how much more fun she can have with her characters. There are so many possibilities with this cast of characters.
review 2: I liked this book b... moreut I didn't love it. The main character and her circle of friends are well written and engaging. The story is different and interesting but it just goes on too long. I got bored a few times but kept pushing through because I had an idea as to what was happening fairly early on and wanted to know if I was right. I was. This is part romance/part paranormal and for me it would have worked better with a little less sex and a lot more paranormal. I love sex scenes if they are well written and most of these were, but it slowed the action of the mystery/paranormal part of the story so many times that I wished there had been a few less of them. Also, so many personal issues left hanging that the story felt incomplete. I like a series where each book truly stands on its own though one can lead to another. In this instance I would have liked more resolution on a few issues to wrap things up. So, overall I liked it but didn't love it. Haven't decided if I want to read the next one or not. less
