review 1: Read May 11 - 13, 2014After several other book attempts,Starting, stopping with no interest, I finally went over and grabbed this book.Again Chase had me with the first words outta Jades mouth. "White Witch My Ass" We had alot of flashbacks from Jade, her childhood, her mom, and some of Dan.I thought this was a great fit for mother’s day as I knew she was going to find her mom. So it made sense to have Aunt Gwen make a visit since being the sister. I thought it cute you integrated Facebook as the place Gwen and Bea meet. A pretty good bit happens in this book; even so I was disappointed with Jade s character growth. I like a strong woman and she wasn't that in this book. She acted more like a teenager.Then there were some loose ends that had to be explained in the letter... more from Dan. I am sorry to say, I was bored at that point and ready for the book to be over so I didn’t read any further.I will not read any further in this series.☆Blessed be,Tresa da BookNerdette
review 2: I'm disappointed that I gave the first book 4 out of 5 stars. And have to give the second book only 2. The author is a talented writer because even though this book was lacking, I still want to go on to book three. I find Jade to be infantile and dimwitted in this second book. Also really insecure, and that's why I rated as I did. Towards the end of the book, it all fell in place. I can only hope Jade is more sure of herself and the people surrounding her in the next book. Everyone has self doubt at times, but hers came off as whiny in this book. less
