review 1: A dark, fantasy, fun read! Part of LiAW.Dark because its vampires and witches, and nightwalkers and shifters holding the world in balance with the unknowing humans. Its set in a seedy part of London where young throwaways have to do what they have to do to survive - despite Luke's best attempts to help. Its fun because Charlie is such a snarky character, bit of a brat but who can kick ass - its also fun to see the twink top the bear.A great story, not too vampire-ish so good for those like me who like their paranormal light and based in real times. Loads of potential for expansion.
review 2: I glad to see that this stoy doesn't fit the vampire cliche and that the human had some prior experience with the supernatural. It seems like every paramormal romance has a
... morescene where the main human love interest comes to terms with having a vampire as a lover. This book was unique in that the human was more receptive of the relationship than the vampire was at first. Also having two different kinds of vampires was a nice touch as well. I would have liked more explanation about the sire bond, at this point I'm just going to assume that Luke will live a prolonged life, possibly as long as Charlie's. After all his age seemed to be regressing towards the end, less laugh lines and all that. I really hope to see a full length novel if not about this couple then at least set in this world soon. less

Really love the story. Would love it more if it is longer.
