review 1: I won a copy of Deanna Wadsworth’s The Best Ever last week. It is part of a loosely connected series called 1Night Stand. I had not read any of the others in the series, but if The Best Ever is anything to go by, they are sweet short tales of HEA developing from the one night stand. In Wadsworth’s story, friends from high school reconnect seven years later at a gaming con and also are each other’s unknown one night stand. I like the way the author made the development of the brainy geek realistic, not turning him into an Adonis, just a better version of his teenage self. The jock was more stereotypical, but that worked for the former geek. While the pairing of the one night stand was expected, Wadsworth made it interesting. All in all, a fun quick ... moreread.
review 2: This was a terrific story about a high school fantasy that came true. How many of us wish for that?? I loved this story because I like when a rough and tumble sports guy is gay. I loved that the popular Blake never stopped thinking about the sweet and gentle nerdy Jason. I liked how it shaped the type of person who turned them on after all their time apart. This is just a terrific short story all the way around. You gotta love Deanna Wadsworth, her work is always great! less
