review 1: **Spoilers are in this review****This was a first reads review**I am sorry to say I did not like this book. I got this book from first reads not realizing it was a book on the Rapture. I am a firm believer of the rapture and at first thought it would not be a problem, however, I was unable to suspend my own religous beliefs enough to enjoy the story, I spent must of the story going that is not the way it is suppose to happen. Therefore, I never really got into the story. This story also ends in a cliff hanger. I hate cliff hangers so for me it was another mark against the book. The story goes that the rapture has happened. Every child under 13 is gone and all believers have also been taken. Heaven has closed its gates, but no one on earth knows what is happening. ... moreA state of emergency has been declared and everyone is supposed to be marked so the government can keep track of you. You cannnot get anything with out the mark. The hero is a boy named Micah who is the "Guardian". He is to kill the anti christ, who is some guy named Mr. Grimshaw. Micah is trying to protect a girl named Clarke and Mr. Grimshaw wants her because she is suppose to help him win the war. The book ends with Micah being bet up and Mr. Grimshaw headed to Washington D.C. with Clarke.
review 2: To be continued!!! I guess there will be the other half of the book coming out to conclude this book. Imagine taking the Left Behind Series and Stephen King's book "The Stand" and melding it into Vestige. I enjoyed the characters immensely. Especially the shift of narration between characters to glean the best idea of what is happening. Good book, I will definitely be on the look-out for the other half of the book! less
