review 1: This book is great for sharing with a class. It shows the lives of a couple different students in a 1960s Catholic boarding school. Students have the opportunity to connect with more than one storyteller which adds to the beauty of this book. It deals with hard issues, many of which are relevant today, surrounding race, bullying, loss of culture, assimilation and feeling the weight of heavy expectations.
review 2: Wow! What a book. One thing after another and all exciting little stories from different perspectives. I love it when books have different peoples perspectives. This book is a thrill seeker and a love story. Not only romantic love but brotherly love and family love ever though family can be apart by mile upon miles.
