review 1: This novella runs about 100 pages (according to Amazon) and is more than satisfying for fans of the Lucky O'Toole series (like me). It takes place after "Lucky Stiff" and before "So Damn Lucky". This novella reads just like the other books in the series and doesn't feel rushed like some novellas do. It feels like a small part of one of her full-length novels and was fun to read. I am looking forward to reading "So Damn Lucky". Lucky is a great character!
review 2: This was a shorter visit with Lucky and her Las Vegas, but it was no less enjoyable. Deborah Coonts captures Las Vegas like not many authors do -- her descriptions, her use of locations and her vibe on the page ring so true. Lucky is such a likable character, as are her supporting cast. The situation... more in this novella was wacky, but it's easy to buy -- wacky things happen in Vegas. A great read and a nice taste of Lucky's world until the next novel comes out. less
