review 1: This book is another book that I would use in a lower grade level class where the students are developing basic skills such as describing colors, sounds, etc. This book has intriguing illustrations which go along perfectly with the text which will help the students comprehend the content. The text can help students understand what different sounds look like when they are typed out. CLICK, CLACK, BING, BANG are a few examples of the sounds that are interpreted via this book.
review 2: I read the other book of hers, The Quiet Book, to see how she would contrast the two. I thought this book was cool; it covered the different types of loud that we normally don't think about, but come across them in our daily lives. This book makes us more aware of these loud sounds
... more and since most would be able to relate to at least some of the types of loud in the book, I can see a lot of children enjoying this. To be honest, I liked "The Quiet Book" a lot more because it touched on the types of quiet that I never would have thought about. I think it's cool how Underwood looks at these two very simple things in life that we experience everyday, both loud and quiet, and expands upon them to get us thinking about these things that have become so routine and natural to us. less

Really sweet pictures. I would like to watch an experienced librarian read this book aloud.
