review 1: Hildreth created four main female characters who each have a hidden past, wound, or deep-seeded fear and set them in a secluded Bahamian resort to get personal resolution. The main engine for obtaining these resolutions are the friendships and bonds that develop between the four throughout the book. The interactions, banter, jealousies, insecurities in the female relationships are mostly believable.
review 2: Sometimes when I finish a book, I know I'm going to miss the characters for awhile. This is one of those books. The title makes it sound like the story is mainly about a hurricane, but it's not. It's about people and relationships, as told through the eyes of four very different and very well-developed characters. I didn't realize until I was about a t... morehird of the way through the book that it's Christian fiction. I didn't find the Christian message to be heavy handed or overwhelming, just appropriate for the circumstances of the book. I'll be checking this author out again. less
