review 1: This was a sweet story about never falling out of love with your first love. When Jeremy told Erica he loved her seven years ago, she ran because of a misunderstanding regarding her brother. Once she realized her mistake, she has always regretted running, but figured it was too late to change history. Now that Jeremy has a chance again, he's not going to let her run. Jeremy will do whatever he has to in order to make Erica understand they love each other and can make it work.Very short but sweet story with a HEA.
review 2: A little bit of a childhood friends to lovers and a second chance kind of love story. In this short read we meet Erica and Jeremy.Jeremy wakes up a little battered on the side of the road when Erica stumbles across him. It’s been years si... morence she’s seen him. Since he told her he loved her and she ran away. On leave from the military, Jeremy is suddenly reminded of the hurt he felt when she walked away. Even though years later they both know that he didn’t betray her brother and even though he still hasn’t stopped loving her, Erica is far too damaged to accept that he’d still want her.She has her own regrets about that day all those years ago. But one accident changed her life and letting him see that part of her and the chance that he’d walk away might just be too big of a risk for her to take.This was okay read, a middle of the road type of read. I think a lot of that had to do with the length of the story and being thrown into the present without being able to experience any of their connection from their youth to really connect to who they were now. I love me some second chance and friends to lovers’ stories though. So given that this was the theme, I still enjoyed it. I just needed a little bit more to pull me into the story. less
