review 1: I keep buying Alberts books because the cranky heroines and themes I love suck me in on the blur. Cranky heroine and marriage of con? Love it. One click.However, thus far, this writer has been rather painful for me. The heroine's aren't really psychological developed in a way that resonates with me and the pacing of the plot seems both manic and slow mo at once.In short, this one didn't work for me. Sigh.
review 2: Yes, I have a like for "arranged marriage" stories, modern cinderellas, heroines who don't give in easily and charmingly gorgeous brit heroes, yet this story, having all those ingredients, was simply okay for me. ... moreind of forced to drive the plot. Plus, the characters contradicted themselves a lot, not realizing what was in front of their eyes and getting very dramatic as a result. The characters are likable, though, and the story has a cute ending, but I also have to say it felt rushed to me. less
