review 1: At the end of this book I had pretty much made up my mind that I didn't like it, but then as I got to thinking more about it I realized how good it actually was, and in a way genius. Many things that I thought were problems in this book while reading turned out to actually be positives after I put more thought into it. First you should know that this book is told through multiple points of view, and at first it is overwhelming because you are reading a from so many different viewpoints that are changing sometimes in a matter of paragraphs, so it was hard to get a grasp on the characters and who they were at the begining of this book, but it became easier as it went on. I wish we had gotten more from each character, it felt like the perspectives changed too quickly, but... more at the same time that kept you on your toes while reading which left very little room for dull moments. Most of the characters in this book I despised. They were just plain mean, so much to the point that I felt my skin crawl atsome points. It was quite hard reading about the mean characters of this book. I just wanted to shake them and help them realize how awful they truely being, I get that the meaness of many of the characters was intentionaly created by the author, but still it was quite fustrating to see people treating each other so badly and that they were so blatant to the fact that the were doing so. This book is about cyberbullying, something that is obviously a growing problem worldwide. At first I thought the way cyberbullying was was portrayed in this book was cheesy and impractical , but then as I got to thinking I realized that it was the way cyberbullying was constructed in this book what was made it so real. For example the many viewpoints that this book is told from demonstrates that cyberbullying is not just between the bully and the victim, there are so many people involved in the act in so many different ways. It also shined a new light that I have rarely ever seen aknowledged in books: how the bullies can sometimes turn into victims. At first I thought that that the bullying that took place in this book was extreme, but as I examined it closer I began to understand that (while bad) the methods of bullying presented in this book is something that is happening to people everyday, everywhere, and it is much easier to pull off because you are behind a computer screen, anonoymus. I also liked the points that the author made about the internet and how it relates to who we are as human beings. There was also a slight mystery throughout this book pretaining to the identity of a character that enjoyed, although I had my ideas of who I thought this anonymus person was, I was shocked when my guess was wrong! This book is better with thought, so don't just take it at the surface. I think this is a a must read for any teenagers. It uses over the top, in you face ways to open your eyes to bullying and cyberbullying.
review 2: This book is about Trevor, a boy in Truman Middle School. Trevor had always wanted to get revenge against Lilly after she had made a mean joke about his mother dying. Trevor wouldn't have wanted to get revenge if his mother hadn't actually died 2 days after she said that. But when someone creates a newspaper website online, he finally has the chance to get revenge anonymously. So he starts sending anonymous emails to Lilly, and tries to ruin her life. Then he finally gets revenge, because everyone at school starts hating Lilly and make fun of her. Will anyone ever find out that this anonymous "milkandhoney" is actually Trevor? This book is about identity crisis, individual versus society, hope, and determination. less
