review 1: Bad, so bad... Twilight Saga gone BAD!First of all, Grey is NOT a MAN, he is a sick bastard, manipulative and insecure. His "big secret" was NEVER A SECRET. BUT WAIT! He HAS to "reveal" the obvious to the most pathetic girl in the universe, Anastasia Steele.“I’m a sadist, Ana. I like to whip little brown-haired girls like you because you all like the crack whore – my birth mother. I’m sure you can guess why.” NO SHIT GREY. Only Anastasia couldn't figure THAT out. GROSS, DISGUSTING. How could I stay with a guy who compares me with his "crack whore" mother! SO WRONG IN SO MANY LEVELS!Let me see if I get this, bulling and abusiveness (emotionally and physically) is totally okay if the guy is wealthy? AND NO, I'm not talking about the BDSM.I'm however disturbed with ... morethe amount of bullshit drama, disrespect, harassment, lack of self preservation and worthiness portrayed here. Since when it's okay to have your partner controlling EVERY SINGLE STEP you take? Who you can talk to? When you can see your friends? What type of clothes you will wear from now on?... This trilogy is terrible, if you excuse me I need buckets of eye bleach now.
review 2: This book, I can't even.... I find it very ironic that the main character is an editor, but the author couldn't even bother if fix simple mistakes in this trilogy. She couldn't write her way out of a paper bag. The repetition of words and phrases is really annoying. Stop saying "oh my" who are you?? George Takei?? I'm also over your inner goddess and your subconscious, that can't decide if it hates what Christian is doing or loves it because it changes its mind in the course of a single paragraph. I know your inner goddess is all for it, but your subconscious needs to make up its judgmental mind. Also, I hated that the word clamor was used ALL THE TIME!!! While she was using the thesaurus to look up lengthy words that people this age would NEVER use she could have spent some time looking up other options for clamor. There also needed to be more realistic outcomes to situations that happened. Christian saying that he dreaded thinking what could have happened if she was hit by the bike. Please, it was a BICYCLE she would have gotten some bruises, maybe a scrape or two. Make that bike a motorcycle and then come talk to me. Apparently no one at WSU has ever done the walk of shame because every time she ever did anything with Christian she was automatically dating him. Oh, I want to kiss him, but he doesn't do the girlfriend thing. Oh I spent one night with him, I guess we're dating. Then to top it all off she ended up pregnant, called that one right away. You think she'll remember to get a shot once every three months if she can't handle taking a pill everyday?? In the end I'm not saying don't read this book, I mean it's basically every other romance/sex novel out there, just be ready for horrible writing in general. less
