review 1: It's been awhile since I've thoroughly enjoyed a short story. Many of the ones I've read either feel rushed or incomplete.Man oh man, did I absolutely love this one!Everything about Heaven Can't Wait hit all the right buttons for me. Loved how poor Brian bungled everything up. And I especially enjoyed the character Chuck. What a sweetie he turned out to be.As for the religious or philosophy part of the story.Loved how the author thought outside the box from traditional ideas about Heaven. Loved this version better.Would love to hear more about Brian, Chuck, and Kevin in a possible sequel????
review 2: Seriously cute read. The best part was seeing Neanderthal, 'follow the herd' Brian actually evolve into a decent human being. Or post-human being, as it were. :
... more)As a side note, the one thing that confused me a bit is at the start of the book, Brian mentions his mother watching 'Downtown Abbey', so I was thinking the story is set in the UK. Then it's mentioned that Kevin is from Wisconsin. Just a bit confusing locale-wise for the setting. And finding out that Peter is a bit sadistic at the end... Priceless.Highly recommended as a quick read. less
