review 2: I was unsure at first if I was going to enjoy this story, and had difficulty keeping up with the changing characters, timelines and locations. But gradually the story grew on me and I wanted to hear how the honour killing occured and what happened afterwards. Elif Shafak also cleverly introduces a twist to the story near the end whi... morech I certainly hadn't anticipated. Overall, I thought she brilliantly encapsulates the lives of different generations of Turkish women and men, and how they and their children were affected by their translocation from rural Turkey to cosmopolitan London. less
