review 1: A good and steamy read! Not quite what I expected (my expectations were neither high or low) and I like it but I wasn't blown away by it. Most likely, it won't be a "reread" for me. The main problem I have with this story is Melisande's supposed-secret-love for Vale. I doubt it was love; more like a teenager crush. After they were married, the growing romance was nice enough, but I didn't feel much of an emotional spark. I also couldn't quite put my finger on the heroine's character/personality, and although I do understand the kind of person she is, I found myself not caring a whole lot about her. I like her; I just didn't care a whole lot and that's not a good thing because readers are supposed to care about the characters. Nonetheless, it was a good story, so I'm giving... more it an overall 3.5 stars.
review 2: Meskipun alurnya lumayan agak lambat, tapi ceriatnya menarik, cos Vale/Jasper teteup terkesan lucu and gak sungkan menggoda istrinya yaitu Melisande. Jadi mikir siapa yang sebenernya pengkhinatnya cos Horn ternyata bukan orangnya. Buku ke 3 bercerita ttg Munroe and Helen yang gak lain adalah mantan simpanan Duke of Lister, jadi penasaran sm buku ke 3-nya. (padahal aku ga beli and baca buku ke 1 nya hehe...) less
