review 1: Really weird book.The two protagonist having an affair isn't really something that would attract me. Our hero seems to be so desperate to get laid after being forced to stop fucking various women daily with when he lost his handsome face and our heroine seems unable to control her slutty ways which has cause her to flee in the first place when her slutty behavior results to consequences she doesn't like.And then the 'science talk' the hero makes is just creepy. I rather expect such from horror stories. It really give me goosebumps.The resolution to their problems isn't really satisfying either. It seems that God had come to bless this immoral couple and wipe all of the problems away. Not really an original or filling way to end things.
review 2: 4.5 lovely star... mores! I am officially an Elizabeth Hoyt fan! I read this book after going through the maiden lane series and Elizabeth Hoyt amazed me. I'm a big follower of beauty and beast concepts, however digesting elder women with kids is a bit hard. But I TOTALLY loved it! The h was the mistress of Duke lister for 14 years and had 2 kids with him. The story begins as she escapes the duke in search of a better life and realise her worth. She understood her bad choices in past , knew she was wrong and wanted to redeem herself. The way that she accepts that her past cannot change, the shame cannot be removed, yet all she could do is move on in life is remarkable! Henceforth a round of applause for Elizabeth Hoyt, for she made us love a character that is so hard to even like. Another remarkable aspect were the children in the book and the way they bonded with the Hero. Elizabeth Hoyt really put an effort to show the connection there and not just main characters. less
