review 1: Okay, I couldn't finish this book. I enjoy a good mystery now and then, but honestly, I could not get interested in a single character of the book. The main character is a retired school teacher named Myrtle. Myrtle came across as holier- than-thou and not at all likable. I actually didn't care what out a single character. If a book doesn't capture my interest within the first quarter, I put it down. Wished I hadn't wasted my time.
review 2: I think these books are mis-marked in Good reads. I read this one second and it referenced some things that happened in the first book. The author says they are meant to be stand alone titles, but I would recommend reading this one second. I found this book to be much better than the first one, and I found myself l
... moreaughing aloud several times. As in the first book, there were some inconsistencies that should have been caught in editing, but they didn't deter from the overall pleasure of reading the book. less
