review 1: I'm loving this new series by Elle Kennedy! This was another fun, quick read. It had a lot of heat and passion, as well as sweet, romantic moments too. Reed has had a thing for Darcy ever since she started dating his best friend A.J. To mask his real feelings, he acted like he didn't like her and basically like a big player. Now that Darcy is single, Reed is finding it very difficult to keep his distance. I loved the way these two were with each other. The chemistry is blatantly obvious, but they try to fight it for different reasons. Neither wants to hurt A.J., but Darcy doesn't think Reed is boyfriend material. I loved how things evolved between them. It was fun to see him chip away at her resolve to keep it a fling. Of course, there are some misunderstandings... more. She has a hard time believing that Reed is capable of something serious, and he doesn't think Darcy will ever see him as more. It was a great story, and I can't wait for A.J. to get his HEA.
review 2: So, I had an epiphany. I'm always reading books where I love the hero and the heroine is so-so. Like, I don't hate her but I really don't love her. I realized, it's not that the heroine is so bad bud she's just not worthy of the hero. In other words, she's nothing special. ".Anyway, this is book two in the series. Reed, one of three partners of a nightclub in Boston was secretly so hot for his best friends girlfriend he projected an attitude like he hated her because he was trying so hard to hide his feelings. One night at a rival nightclub he sees Darcy flirting with a guy then discovers she an A.J. have just broken up. Mutually she says.This sets off the inevitable magnet attraction pull between them. Reed is perfect. He is the bad boy player but its only because he's never met a woman he wanted as much as Darcy. She on the other hand is already on the prowl one day after a break-up but she looks down on Reed and considers him fling material only.Seriously, the sex was hot and Reed is one sexy dirty talker. Darcy however I wished would shut-up half the time. I loved Skyler & Gage both so much I'm sure that's why Darcy was such a disappointment. Ultimately, I liked the story, it was only .99 and Reed was worth my time. Reed is a 5 and Darcy is a 2 so I'm splitting the difference with a 3 star rating. I sure hope A.J. gets a more worthy heroine. less
