review 1: Rating: 4.5 out of 5.It was a hard book to read. The content was quite heavy. Not because it was explicit. It was more subtle, but I don't know how to explain it. The book is going to put you in a world of hurt. But it was tolerable only because we get to see Cord and Anne together.I love Cord and Anne. I love how it is written and the story. Although, I wish I could say that I didn't feel any residual resentment and anger towards Cord's and Anne's family, but I do.
review 2: Loved it! I adored Anne, she was spunky, strong and loving. Cord was the perfect brooding, quiet hero. Some parts were harsh to read, the prejudice this couple faced even from their family members was heartbreaking. I wanted to shoot her father, her brother and his brothers for most of the... more book. The scenes describing their farm life were beautiful and the romance was great.Thanks Lassie for the rec cause this is exactly what I was in the mood for! less
