review 1: This story was truly adorable. When I started off at the beginning I wasn't sure if I was going to stick with it or not. It happened to be the only book that I could read on the 6 hour drive I was on, but I'm so glad I did! The characters were very realistic and dual POV worked so well. I could distinctly hear both Liana and Hank's voices very well in my head. I knocked off one star just due to the sort of slow beginning, but once the book picked up I truly couldn't put it down. Overall, it was a very different type of story than I usually read, but it was extremely refreshing and touching. Pick it up! You won't regret it.
review 2: In a way, this book is admirable for how accurately it portrays some aspects of being a teenager — the aimlessness, the confusi... moreon, the tendency toward violent mood swings and acting without thought and thinking of other people not so much as people, but as backdrops and scenery in your own dramas — but that accuracy makes for a bit of a slog as far as reading. A younger reader probably would get a lot more out of it, but for myself, this was a difficult book to slog through, given that I didn't much care for either of the rather selfish, caught-in-their-own-brains protagonists, and I really wasn't remotely invested in whether they kissed at the end. I was reading this for a writing project, or I would have just put it down a third of the way through. YMMV. less
