review 1: Slightly entertaining and the fluffy kind of YA lit that I like to read on occasion, I think the basic storyline of this book had promise, but it lacked the depth necessary to make it special. The main characters seemed to flop back and forth between hatred and true love pretty quickly and easily, and even though the book built up to their realization that they were really in love with each other the whole time, it still felt fast and shallow. My favorite part was the parallels between their relationship and that of Beatrice and Benedict from Much Ado About Nothing, but that could have been implied instead of beating us over the head with it by having them act those parts (brilliantly, of course) in a production of that play.
review 2: Jenna and Jonah are star
... mores in a hit TV show from the old Family Network. In there on screen television show they are two super in love teenagers. Their characters in the show, Charlie Tracker and Fielding Withers play two famous centered teen pop singers and they can't escape their television personae. The only reason they date is for the fame, cameras and reporters. Every bulb flash is of them smooching or talking intimately or giving gifts. It looks like the picture-perfect, young love romance. What the reporters and fans of the show don't realize is that the romance is completely and totally fake off-screen. If it was there choice, the romance wouldn't even be going on. Charlie has been acting since she was very young though her parents got her into acting for the money. Now as she grows up, it's about staying away from her money-grabbing parents and keeping her career strong. For Fielding it is all about trying to find himself, writing the Great American Novel and moving past this part of his life. After playing the same character for a long time on a TV show, things get boring and old. less
