review 1: This is billed as "fanfiction for a show that doesn't exist", but really, it's just Criminal Minds fanfic in an urban fantasy world.But that's ok by me - I'm a fanfic reader, and especially when that fic is well written and characterised, I'm all good with it. I just had to remind myself repeatedly that Esther isn't actually Hotch, Brady isn't actually Morgan, and Chaz isn't actually Reid (visually, they're nothing like the CM characters, but role- and personality-wise, they fit pretty much exactly.)I'll happily be reading the next volume
review 2: I only managed to get through the first novella and didn't bother reading the rest, so perhaps my review isn't as fair as it should be.I don't like the style. It consists mostly of too many meaningless descriptions ... morethat the story would be fine without, and very little actual action. There's almost nothing about FBI procedures and profiling is described in a very simplified manner, which makes me believe the author only knows about them from a certain TV show that I'm not going to mention by name (but even the characters are very similar). Meh. less
