review 1: Solo había leído a una autora del género romance-histórico-erótico. Es un gran cambio de estilo en entre Robin Schone y Emma Wildes. La historia es entretenida, con momentos cómicos, algo de drama y por supuesto escenas apasionantes. Me gustó la forma de escribir de Emma, no es vulgar y no satura el libro de escenas de cama. Aunque mis consentidas siguen siendo Julia Quinn y Sherry Thomas. Gracias amiga por la recomendación xD no gasté mi dinero en balde. Próximamente la reseña.
review 2: This book is a little hard to review, but it did make my favorites. Ms.Wildes is unique with her writing. Instead of having one set of characters, she has two that intertwine. Anyway to the story, so there is a young widow who was married to a abusive husband, he tr... moreeated her horribly and said that it was her fault that she was "passionless." That is the backstory for the heroine, Caroline. The whole "passionless" thing leads us to the heroes of the story, a notorious Duke(Nicholas) and Earl(Derek). They made a druken wager on who is London's best lover. Because Caroline wanted to figure out whether her late husband was correct in his declaration she volunteers. Thus the story. You may wonder how having two heroes will workout without broken hearts, but after 30 or 40 pages the outcome becomes clear. So I really enjoyed this book, Wildes is a great storyteller. I couldn't give it 5 stars because of the editing. It's sad to see such a nice story fall because of the editor. The characters were all well developed and loveable. Nicholas, like all dukes and rakes, was sexy and so very very romantic. I wish Wildes let us in on Derek a little more, but he his turmoil and part in the story made him likeable all the same. The plot was engaging, I didn't lose interest at any point. An Indecent Proposition was better than the second book, A Lesson from a Scarlet Lady. I'm glad I read this one after though. As for humor and wit, it wasn't LK or JQ standard but then again that's the bar I set for my books. Overall 4.5 stars! less
