review 1: Nice intro to Content Strategy, as seen from different angles (those of Marketing, User Experience, Editing, Curating, or Business Strategy). It doesn't really get into the details, but the global coverage provides a quite clear view of what it is all about. I specially liked the emphasis on being attentive to the user/reader/consumer. It may sound obvious, but it's something one misses quite too often. Here it becomes the center piece. It also provides a glimpse on the usual methodologies and deliverables within the discipline.I was thinking is giving it 3 stars because I didn't really get the feeling of learning much. However, the book is well written and structured, it's short, and keeps itself focused on its subject while providing different points of view. Hence the 4... more stars.
review 2: Like the title suggests, this book is about the Elements of Content Strategy and as such it's pretty basic. As a UXer myself, I follow Erin's posts regularly in AListApart or The Pastry Box Project. I really like her writing and her insights; she's great! Hence, if you follow Erin's posts, don't buy this book, it doesn't add much. If not, then get this book and get introduced to the elementary of Content Strategy. less
