review 1: While I liked this book, I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as the first book in this series (January Kills Me). Normally, there are a few sticky situations that the main character gets into or only a few bad luck type things that happen - and this usually makes for an enjoyable read. I felt that this one went a little overboard. It seemed as though the writer threw every possible situation into this one book. And I felt it was too much - to the point of where I said to myself "you've got to be kidding me" a couple of times. I will not give up though. If there is a 3rd book, I will read it.
review 2: Even Katy does it again!! Loved the second book in this delightful series. I laughed just as hard this time as the last, and was just as shocked at the endin
... moreg. I do have to say I wasn't exactly thrilled with the Ben twist and I hope it changes in March!!Samantha is at it again, but this time she didn't even want to be in the mess. Still trying to recover from January, Sam is thrown into another mystery with Ben, but this time it revolves around her best friend Maxie. A bomb hits her neighbors house, Maxie's boyfriend gets shot, and there's someone out to hurt Sam again, but this time the entire mess is all intertwined. Whew, the action and tension could be cut with a knife. I don't think I drew breath, except that which was needed for laughter, the entire book. I liked seeing the other side of the main characters and hope to see more revelations in the future. This time around you get to see that take no prisoners side of Maxie that makes you love her. This book also adds to the tension between Ben and Sam, so much that you just want to reach out and shake the girl to her senses. Hopefully, she regroups and sees what everyone else sees...he loves her!! But there's that Ben twist at the end that broke my heart. I won't tell what it is, you'll have to read. Actually, I'm not telling any more about the book because it is a must read!! less
