review 1: Not really sure how I feel about this. I certainly didn't enjoy it, but I feel like it was exactly what it was aiming to be. The artwork was very good, but the story was gross and disjointed. I feel like one of those reviewers I dislike because they read a book that is clearly not for them but that is perfect in its own niche. I just found this boring and gross and without a set plot (which wouldn't normally bother me, but for some reason it did with Beautiful Darkness), but if you like weird and gross and disjointed, this may be perfect for you.
review 2: I want to give this 5 stars, but for some reason I just can't do it. This was a fucked up and beautiful story with amazing art and intense concepts. It reads and looks like a children's book but the story its... moreelf is out there. The contrast is what makes it so amazing and unique, but probably why I'm also hesitant to give it that extra star: that little piece of myself that refuses to really understand it. less
