review 1: It's strange for me to say it, but I was greatly disappointed! The first book had that mysterious, well-written story (in fact stories), but that's not the case with the second book.To be honest I love sci fi. I am a huge fan of the theory that there are parallel universes and that one's choice can create an alternative world. But in that second book, all I could see were the scrambled thoughts of an author, who desperately was trying to create a story as good as the one in the Map of Time. Well, that try failed, or at least in my view it did. Why, you ask? For instance, I was incredibly mad at the fate of all the couples. The book was supposed to be about love and in the end it showed that true love is above all - even time and parallel universes. So what - he decided to ... morekill Emma and Murray, to separate Bertie and Jane, and much to my annoyance - to make Tom/John/Derek (or whatever you like to call him) literally a sex slave, who is dying to see Clear again; and for the latter it was insignificant death - to be part of the twisted plan of the aliens. That was just cruel. After that point on, whatever happened in that book, didn't matter to me - I was heartbroken. And maybe that was the point, but I can't accept it.The part that made me really mad was at the very end - okay, so Wells saved them, he was left alone (is that really the fate he deserves?) and on top of that the author multiple times mentioned that PERHAPS in another universe those horrible things happened and the aliens really have taken over our planet and so on, and so on.The whole time I was reading this I felt as if the author wanted the other universe to be the real one, the pain and the horrible events to be the only true thing in the whole book. Well, that's some cruel attitude to your characters and to your readers! Really, I wasn't expecting bunnies and rainbows, but another thing broke my heart - the fact that all these strange time jumps, also stories jumps were written in a confusing way. Most of the readers consider them highly intelligent, but for me the author tried so hard to make all this complex, that he failed and could only leave some of the readers (like myself) unsatisfied and with questions. I can only hope that the third book will be much better!
review 2: Entretenimiento puro.

Entertaining writing style, but page-to-story ratio seemed substantially higher than necessary.
