review 1: The story was poorly written, no character development at all, all the character's thoughts and actions were sudden and unexplained, Liv was clueless about EVERYTHING that happened, it was very disturbing and inappropriate (in the first two pages she describes her period and the stain it left... what?), supporting characters were not developed (I had no idea who was who and why she didn't like them) and her friend was the generic "best-friend-who-is-a-cute-guy-that-is-actually-[and-secretly]-gay" (who falls in love with a gay ghost and kills himself over it) and an old strange man who is actually her birth father. Her mom is a beauty queen killing machine and her legal father gets drunk and hits Liv in the face. She has a secret black boyfriend and has sex with him in stra... morenge out-of-the-way places like old abandoned barns and the woods. The plot made no sense, like there was no real purpose to the story.
review 2: I wanted to like this book more than I did. The author takes a new perspective on werewolves and I loved the way identity was dealt with. But there were so many problems with secondary characters, motivation and red herrings (for a while I was convinced that one of the secondary characters must shape-shift to a bird) that it pulled away from the powerful tale it could have been.I'd say - if you are interested in werewolves and want to get 'inside the head' of one, that this would be worth reading for that unique perspective. less

Werewolves good, overdone plot and pointless relationships or encounters, not so much.
