review 1: This is a very interesting book, exploring the connection between what we see (through cinematic film, in this case) and our behavior. I appreciated the details the author incorporated about cinematography into this mystery/thriller, which is why I liked the first parts of the book. But I felt that the ending was rushed and the surprise twist in the end was ok, but not so shocking. Parts of the "science" used to explain the plot device seemed thin or lacking in places, but overall I enjoyed the book. I would like to give it 3.5 stars, but since I can't, I'm going to round down to 3 stars, due to the weaker ending compared to the strong start and middle.
review 2: Laine (librarianscanreadtoo.blogspot.com) Review:Entertainment.Movies that we enjoy to watch after
... morea hard day’s work. Everyone has their favorite genres: Action/Adventure; Romance; History; maybe all three in one film. Some enjoy only the new movies, some enjoy the classics. You can now receive some of the older classic movies on regular DVD collections and still experience what those movies show. But if you are a collector, DVD’s just don’t cut it for you. They don’t bring you the dynamic like those 16mm, or the 35mm. Classic and silent most of the times and you get a very educational look how those movies used to be shown. You wouldn’t think twice of gathering as many as you could for an amazing great price. No matter if they are labeled or not, you just got have them and watch them as quickly as you can. And of course an unlabeled one would make a curious man anxious to see what’s on it and no harm done.Inspector Franck Sharko and Detective Lucie Henebelle have their hands full when people show up with these rare diseases and the only thing that the police can connect the people is the unidentified film that they bought and watched. But there is no possible way that watching a film could cause these unusual horrifying diseases.Right? As Inspector Sharko and Detective Henebelle try to find out who killed five people and how they ended up at a construction site while trying to figure out how a film could cause so much destruction to a human body by just watching takes these two farther then they have ever been before. Sharko and Henebelle think that Supernatural is at play here for a film couldn’t possibly do this kind of damage. Right?A wonderful action-packed thriller that you just can’t put down! less

This one started out slow for me, but it reeled me in with a complex mystery.
