review 1: Never liked Darick Robertson's art, even Transmetropolitan, find it ragged and ropey, and while Ennis's obsessions with sex and violence can get tedious, at least he's really working with some strong themes in The Boys. That is, "who watches the watch men?" Who keeps an eye on the superhuman community? Especially when, in the world of The Boys, superhumans are by and large disgusting, abusive, power-tripping scum who have little more than disdain for ordinary humans.
review 2: I like the fact that Hughie and Starlight's relationship continues to surprise - the general teleology has been clear, but Ennis has tempered the lighter, almost comic-relief aspects of it (when considered alongside the main story) with suprising deftness - the long-awaited inevitable con
... morefrontation is genuinely painful (even if one questions whether Hughie would be quite so quick to accept such a more negative interpretation of the Seven footage). Other than that, a bit of a placeholder volume but I *do* like the Malchemical/Superduper sidestory, if only because it is so very nasty. I really like the love/hate line the reader has to walk with Butcher, and the return to the Homelander's agenda. More please! less

Pretty much talking and not too much plot developing. But still, good stuff.

The best volume of The Boys yet, even if not as funny as previous volumes.
