review 1: This is one of the several volumes of graphic novels which tell the "Blackest Night" story-line of Green Lantern. A lot of action and great art made it an enjoyable read, although it felt toward the beginning we were seeing some of the same stuff from another GN in this series, but from a slightly different angle. The ending was spectacular though, although the very end (last panel on last page with Sinestro) definitely left us hanging wanting to know what happens next.
review 2: I got into the Green Lantern series after reading up on the universe and the emotional spectrum. I've been waiting to get caught up enough to read this series for a very long time and I'm not disappointed. The stories in here are good, but the gaps missing in between are pretty crucial
... more. Each individual comic here is great (except Stewart's tale) but it's not where you want to start reading Blackest night. The different versions if Green Lantern out there make the series increasingly expensive and hard to follow. How I believe there are three or four currently running separate corps, and since this is a DC event we also have Batman and company running around. I don't have Blackest Night 0-8 so I will continue to miss out for awhile...still, to me Green Lantern is the best written comic out there due to the large universe and strong individual characters. less

Lovely art and an engaging story, but difficult to follow without additional background.

An okay read, but since I know everything that is going to resolve there is no tension.

Perfect companion for the main Blackest Night compilation. Another must read

I'd probably have liked Blackest Night if I read this with it.
