review 1: Oh dear Lord...please tell me it's not true...they've succeeded in turning Superman into movie Superman. There's even a part where he's rockin the super hobo beard. He killed Dr Light in a fit of rage over his girlfriend Wonder Woman getting zapped! This is some high school s**t right here! Superman would NEVER do that! Before that Supes and Wonder Girlfriend flew into Kahndahq just to start some s**t with the military? Whaaaaat? Are they supposed to be high school kids, cause they sure act like it. "Hey new guy, you should worry about me!" *Wham!* Oh Superman, your dialogue is top notch! What's with this weird politically correct league? Metamorpho was replaced with a woman called Element Woman? And the Atom is now a Chicana? One of Firestorm's identities Ronnie Raymond i... mores now a Flash Thompson style jock? Martian Manhunter hates the League?Furthermore, why are all the Leaguers so mean and surly? Seems like they all have a beef with one another. They spend half the book fighting with each other! They did this in the other books too! What's a matter, not enough bad guys to fight? This book is all over the place! They're in the middle of a fight...next thing you know they're hangin with Constantine!Whoa! Then old man Aquaman shows up all pissed off!! Then the Crime Syndicate shows up! Now correct me if I'm wrong but if all the cyborg parts of Cyborg split off of him, he'd be dead right? Ugh...this is bad, good art, everything else is bad!
review 2: So, unless you're reading JLA, Justice League Dark, the Shazam trade, Trinity War, and the Pandora series, this collection will make about as much sense to you as it did to me, which is to say not much. I mean, you can sort of guess after a while, but I would not recommend this book to fans that haven't kept up with 4 or 5 other comics in the DC line. Heck, this collection is also like 2 different stories anyway. The first half makes sense by itself for the most part, and at least tries to explain the stuff that was in other comic lines that you may not have read. Then you get to the Trinity War stuff, which was a series that connected all the Justice League teams into one story. But this gives you just the beginning and the end, leaving it not making much sense. So skip the last two installments in the collection unless you plan to read all of Trinity War as well. less

Bit of repetition with the other volumes of JLA and JLD but overall interesting and well executed.
