review 1: Where to even start with this series? 2 years...it has taken me that long to get through it. Why? Am I that slow of a reader? Nope not at all. This series is just intense! Fantastic! But intense. Spoiler: Don't get attached to anyone...this is the first series I have ever read that is not afraid to kill off any of their beloved cast of characters. That takes a bit of getting used to. I personally love series books and how attached you get to the characters but this one had a learning curve....but I loved it just the same.I definitely had to take "breaks" in between gruesome deaths, chapters and books to digest it all. But I always picked them back up again ;-)
review 2: It was not entirely like the review said, in a way that the books don't demand th
... moreat you finish them at once (maybe because or the sheer thickness of them - especially A Clash of Kings). But they slowly and quietly suck you in and instead of demanding you finish them quickly, they compel you to keep reading and keep reading. They might possibly be the literal equivalent of a marathon to a marathon-lover. less

I quite enjoyed the first and second books. The third and forth I found a bit long.
