review 1: Interesting story. 4 girls are identical except for the color of their hair. They live on an island with 2 caretakers. They spend their days studying and exploring the island. They do not swim or go near the water. Everything is the same each day until a new "different girl" comes to the island and then everything changes. The book was written from the perspective of one of the girls in a rather stilted but readable style. I found myself wanting to know about these girls and what would happen.
review 2: It's rare for me to give 1star ratings. Unfortunately, I just can't muster much more enthusiasm for this slim novel. There is a decided lack of action and the plot climbs ever so slowly to the top of the arc only to leave you flat at the top with no down
... morehill chase. Plus, it's rather obtuse and, maybe, too cerebral. I really have no idea what Irene and Robbert were doing on an island with four robot girls. I understood that it was unsafe for them in other places but not precisely why or who or where. Besides the fact that they were creepy if harmless that is. This is a miss. less

This book is so bad. I struggled through it knowing it would get better. It didn't. Just don't.
