review 1: This book is difficult to read at first, with a unique writing style and an attention to details that may seem off putting at first. You also have several point of view characters, where you'll find liking one story over another. But in the end, once you get through the first 2/3rds of book, it's hard to put down. Being a trilogy, I'm guessing it will keep up it's fun, adventurous pace from here on out. An acquired taste, I'm willing to keep going and see what happens to these adventurers that I've grown fond of.

... moreh this is part one. It also explains why the ending made absolutely no sense whatsoever since it was never meant to be an ending. From the wiki page we learn that the book was cut in half to make up for a lost investment that never panned out.
