review 1: Read this right after The Courtship, and am happy to find it was on par with The Heir. I highly recommend reading both the prequels if you enjoyed the Heir as it fills in a lot of the back story about Westhaven's half siblings and full siblings. I think I will take a quick read through of the Heir again right now so as to get a better understanding of Westhaven's parents in their senior years. I felt they were minor characters in that book that I didn't pay enough attention to them the first time around.Again, my love to Grace Burrowes for her beautiful writing. I enjoyed this novella very much.

... moreo see the heroes as children. I really liked that this is a mid-relationship story, where an already-in-love couple has to deal with the difficulties of maintaining their love after the initial HEA-- a real rarity in romance. I also appreciated the way incorporates the historical fact that many women became physically and emotionally drained by the constant childbearing and birthing of the period. Not wild about the evil courtesan mother plotline; as the child's father, wouldn't Percy have had the right to take his daughter away? less

A visit to a turning point in the Windham family. Makes me want to reread this family's story now.

It's refreshing to read a romance novel about a couple who are married with kids!

Cute novella. I liked this one better than the part one of their back stories.
