review 1: I love reading about characters with a physical hindrance. Amy's ability to read lips due to her hearing impairment becomes an asset in this story. Could easily have become a full novel but these were secondary, non-alpha characters so I understand why it's a novella. There is good continuity regarding the characters which have been written about in previous books.I don't like love scenes where the woman begs "please". Getting quite tired of them actually. That is my only criticism.
review 2: I usually love GB's stories but this one seemed to plod too much. Dolan and Amy were pretty boring for most of the first half of the book. I loved all the other novellas surrounding the Duke and Duchess and the Heir, the Soldier and Virtuoso but somehow this didn't have t
... morehe sparkle of those. There are two short stories for free on blogs that GB wrote for Christmas which are marvelous examples of her beautiful style, I'm surprised that this one managed to make it to the publishers. less

liked this but the ending was rushed and abrupt. should have ended with the actual wedding.

Of course it was too short. I knew it was going to be too short. I loved it anyway.
