review 1: I gave this 4 stars even though it's not especially well written. It is a great beginner's guide to the world of mushrooms, covering all of the areas in which I was interested. Lots of trivia and but it is nice to finish a book and think that you have learnt something new. I think a general knowledge of fungi would certainly help before taking this tome to task, and still think that more photos would aid some of the explanations but Marley does a good job in presenting information on many aspects of the macro fungal world. less
