review 1: Maybe 3.5, maybe. Kate Kane, former military cadet (she refused to lie about being gay so she was discharged—though they'll probably have to retcon that eventually) turned crimefighter is a tough, intelligent interesting super-hero. However her adversaries, the Cult of Crime and the crazed leader Alice are very unimpressive, indistinguishable from any other evil cult in the DCU (or the MU for that matter). So while I can see why the book became popular, I can see why I never bought the original series.

... moret away from you leaving you dizzy and at a loss. Some may say it's confusing, but in my experience it's no more confusing than most Morrison Batman tales. Would rate this higher, but this story merely scratches the surface and whets the appetite for more Batwoman! less
