Back when we used to kick it everyday
My thoughts swayed to thinking you were made up of
God-sent elements put here to change the todays of tomorrow.
But that part of yourself departed you
When you went back to acting the same,
From a square four to a bare one again,
Like yesterday’s tomorrow’s all over again
And you imparted feelings of sorrow and betrayal
Your portrayal of our friendship meant we had to end it
Didn’t even defend it
Wonder if you ever meant it
Or did you lend it
To get your way
Those words you penned
Those words won’t mend it
Never nor today.
You lost a friend…
Yes I meant it
You never meant it.
One day you’ll realise
The cost of the loss of a true friendship.
The Friendly Ghost.
