review 1: I thoroughly enjoyed this fast paced, action filled thriller by Gregg Hurwitz. It kept me turning the pages as fast as I could. The characters were great, Some, like the main female, Eve, as well as Jay and Will, were very likable, and others, including Sue and Harry, added depth to the story even though they weren't at all sympathetic. Then, there was the antagonist. He came across as pure evil, and very scary. The storyline was interesting, and filled with danger and adventure. Hurwitz really made the setting come alive with all of the natural perils of the jungle, plus a fanatical killer. This is a great book, and a compelling survival story.
review 2: If you've ever thought about vacationing at a jungle ecolodge, reading this book might make you reconsi
... moreder. This is a fast-paced, thrill-packed adventure as a group of American tourists marooned in the Mexican jungle find themselves stalked by a really evil bad guy. One of their own has disappeared when a fierce storm severs their contact with the outside world. I loved Hurwitz' descriptions of the jungle--the animals, insects, raging river, muddy roads, vines, dangerous plants and creatures like Sweeper ants, scorpions, crocodile, jaguar. The bad guy was pretty over the top,but the action was great. less
