review 1: I liked this one better than the first book. Getting some backstory on Mikasa was nice; it's gratifying to finally see a kick ass female character who isn't portrayed as a total bitch. Still can't stand Eren. I knew what was coming at the end of this issue, so it wasn't mind-blowing or anything. My teenager kids have watched the anime and filled me in on the major plot points. I was intrigued by the somewhat original storyline, and as I don't have time to wait for the anime to load I figured I'd read the manga. Working at a library helps. :) I will continue to read the series as long as I can find them in my library's consortium.
review 2: I'm surprised as to why people didn't like this volume and why they called it a disappointment? In my opinion I like it bet
... moreter than the first one! The part about Mikasa's childhood and how she got to know Eren is really amazing and I loved how the author put it together. We see more of the three dimensional manoeuvre or something in this volume which is good cause I was so confused in the first volume. less
