review 1: This is such a great story. I am loving this series. Great narration! Fantastic characters. The hero and heroine, Hartley and Alethea were wonderful together, great chemistry. Not forced or fake. Some nicely written sex scenes. The dialogue throughout the book is fantastic, witty, funny and flows so nicely. The plot and story line is great. I love these Wherelocks and Vaughns with their gifts. Always something going on, not a dull moment. And the villains are truly villains. The narration is just great (even better on 1.25 speed). All the characters have their own distinct voices and the men sound like men. Could use a little more emotion with her character reading, but she is still very good. I totally recommend this whole series. Fast paced stories, all of them.I am going... more to move on to book 4 now and am already excited! I got this as a free read with my Kindle Unlimited subscription and 2.99 for the narration. Great deal for sure!
review 2: I am listening to these as audiobooks and enjoying them quite a bit. They are easy reads without much angst. The 'bad guys' are always over the top evil and the narration of the books goes over and over how evil they are too much. I found myself fast forwarding through the last 5th of the audiobook because it was all about catching the villains who of course must recount all their evil deeds to the hero before being brought to justice. But I like the cast of characters and the Hero and Heroine are always fun as they fall in love. The hero of course is always the last to know... The epilogues are always pretty good too. less

Just finished rereading all the books and this has to be my favorite one. I'm holding out hope for Modreds story, but I swear to lucifer that if he ends up with a woman who has too good a shield I will be a very unhappy lady. I digress. I like a HR with truly evil villains I'm not really one who cares for the "big misunderstanding" romance novels those can be tedious. This book had it all for me the sexy H & H,super evil villains, amazingly close family with supernatural gifts that do a bang up job getting ship done.
