review 1: I've been reading Heather Graham books since I started reading romance, oh so many years ago, and have enjoyed most of them. This one was no exception. However, as I was reading this book I recalled why I haven't read any of her vampire books in awhile. I always get so tense reading her vampire books because I am waiting for the bad thing to happen. I know it is there, and I just don't want it to happen. I guess in my vampire romances, I want a bit of levity and in her vampire books, there isn't much. This was a good story but left me so tense for most of the book I didn't enjoy it as much as I wanted to. I liked the book and the story but I had to put it at 3 stars because I was waiting for the axe to fall after every page! Although, in actuality, the ending was a bit ant... morei-climactic and rushed. In fact, I thought for a moment we wouldn't get a resolution in this book. That was how quickly the ending battle scene came to the story.I'm not sure if the other two books in this series are tied with this one. I hope so because I want to know about Cody's father. The love story between Cody and Alex was rushed as are most of Graham's love stories these days. At times Alex annoyed me and almost ended up on my TSTL shelf but since it was only a one time thing, I let it slide. :) I just don't feel that deep of a connection to the hero and heroines of Graham's recent books. However, I keep reading, hoping that I'll find that shining star that reminds me of my earlier Heather Graham reads.
review 2: When darkness falls, Alexandria Gordon is guided by visions as she hunts for her father's murderer. Returning to Victory, Texas, she lands in the arms of fearsome lawman Cody Fox.Cody, a dedicated soldier in the war against evil, wears his battle scars with honor, all while holding a shameful secret from the Alexandria. Their attraction to one another is fierce, but soon it may cost Alexandria her life. For an ancient evil has been awakened and is stalking the townsfolk after dark. To protect Alex, Cody must choose between a showdown with the devil and the fiery beauty whose kisses soothe his tormented soul.Another great adventure from Heather Graham. less

Para ser una novela histórica, o de época como las llamo yo, estuvo bastante buena.
