review 1: Okay, where to begin...The concept of Magicals was fascinating and kept me so interested that I had to keep reading. The love triangle fell flat for me though and it was a big part of the story. I am still giving this book a 4 star rating because it was entertaining, kept me wanting more, and elicited different emotions out of me. Anger, confusion, more anger, annoyance - all of which I can only assume the author wanted her readers to feel.I have never come across a more annoying protagonist since Bella Swan. I hate cheaters, I don't understand why they do it, and I can't feel sorry for them. So when chloe constantly flip flops between twin brothers, I couldn't help but want to throw my phone against the wall. (This is the downside to the advancement of technology- the ina... morebility to throw books when you're pissed off with them)I can only assume that the author wants us to hate chloe and learn from her mistakes. If this was her mission: well done - you have succeeded. If it wasn't and we are meant to love her and feel sorry for her? I may have missed the point of this book.
review 2: I first found Heather Lyons with a book about Medusa, then I read The Collector's Society and I loved them both so I dove straight into this one. Needless to say I am not disappointed. I loved this story. I love nice long books and that's what this is.Magic, love, war it's all right here. I love the twins Jonah and Kellan, I am not sure who I want to win. There are times that I just wanted to reach into my IPad and slap Chloe for being an immature imbecile, but then I have to remind myself of how I was at 18 years old and realize that she is immature and will have to grow into the woman she is meant to be. There is so much going on in this first book, I am anxious to see what fate has in store for these characters. Such responsibility put on such young people, not sure any of us could handle the world these people live in. Take an adventure into a world of Magicals and mysteries. less
