review 1: Much Ado About Anne, the second book in the fabulous Mother Daughter Book Club Series. Heather Vogel Frederick once again captured my heart when I read this book. People, if you haven't read this series, you have to, now :D!Anyway, the first 2 sentences in this book are "'What are you girls up to out there?' I swear all the mothers have radar that doesn't quit." Many people can relate to this! How many times have we thought we've gotten away with something when your Mom appears out of no where and says, "Insert your name here, what were you up to? Tell me before I insert punishment here."I'm a person who likes harmless pranks, and I think of myself of having a wicked sense of humor (I guess) although others disagree. Some of the pranks were a little childish, but they still... more made a laugh.Becca Chadwick joins the group in this book. I felt mortified when I read that in the book, but because of this, Becca changed for the better (a little). The romance. Sigh. I'm a person that loves love stories (unless it gets sexual, and then I'm like stupid book, and I throw it across the room). Although the girls are in 7th grade, there was sparks between Emma and Stewart. From the beginning you could tell Stewart had a crush on Emma. He was always sticking up for her, and he did stupid-adorable stuff when he was around her. She only realized this near the end of the book, but when she did, I was all EMMA AND STEWART FOREVER! I know i'm really cheesy, but I just adore the couple as you can tell.I felt really bad for Cassidy in this one, but more often then not, I got mad at her. Her mom starts dating Stanley Kinkaid, a short, bald, accountant. Cassidy is beyond mad, she's furious. She thinks that her mom is trying to replace her dad, and Cassidy can't stop comparing her deceased father to Stanley. If my dad had passed away, and my mom started dating, I would be pretty mad too. But Stanley's a really nice guy, and I'd be okay with that. He does so much stuff for Cassidy, and in the end, she likes him a little better, but she still doesn't want another "dad".Poor Jess. Half-Moon Farm, the one she grew up in, is going to be sold because of tax complications. I don't really know what she goes through because my parents haven't been planning to sell our house (yet), but I did feel sorry for her. What the girls did to save the farm was pure brilliance, and a little unrealistic. None the less, I still liked the whole fashion thing, and it wasn't too over the top.Megan has some friendship problems in this book. She wants to be friends with Emma, Jess, and Cassidy, but she also wants to be friends with Becca. Becca as in the person who always taunted Emma. I felt really bad for Megan because I would never want to be in the middle, but I was secretly hoping she would dump Becca and join her true friends. Megan makes a wonderful decision though, and I'm glad she did because in the next few books in the series, you can see that Becca isn't really a bad person. The girls grew. I could see how their personalities became more stronger from the beginning of the first book to the ending of the second book. Heather Vogel Frederick showed that change doesn't happen all of a sudden, a person grows gradually. The ending wasn't a perfect gift wrapped in a little bow like the first book, but this book's ending was more realistic. It wasn't a sad ending (at all), but it was...I don't know... more heart filling if that's a word. Thank you Mrs. Frederick, for creating such a wonderful series :D!
review 2: I loved this book.In my opinion the second book was better than the first.Three of my friends have had the situation of getting a stepparent or their parents dating after a divorce.I kind of feel Cassidy's longing for her dad, but my parents are married and both are still alive.Anyway,my favorite part of the story was when Emma and Stewart held hands in the dark. It is better than a popular girl and a popular boy falling in love. Stewart and Emma are a perfect match. I liked that part even better than the fashion show. less
