review 1: Fleabag is without a person and no other dogs would play with him because of his fleas. One day Fleabag saw a boy who was lonely too. The boy threw the ball he was holding and Fleabag ran to go get it. From that point on they were inseparable although the little boy's big people did not like him very much. Little boy was very sad one day and told Fleabag that he would be moving far away soon and would never dee him again. Fleabag didn't quite understand. The night before the boy was to move, the boy decided that he would take Fleabag and run away. Fleabag didn't quite know what what was going on but he knew it didn't feel right. Instead of following the boy, Fleabag decided to bark as loud as he could which woke up the big people. The big people weren't happy with the litt... morele boy, but were pleased enough with Fleabag for taking care of the boy, that they let him sleep in the house for the night. The next day when the boy was about to leave he called to Fleabag and told him that the big people had decided that he could come too! The next day the dad took care of the fleas, the mom washed him and the boy played with him as much as ever. Fleabag finally had a family of his own. This was an adorable story about friendship and doing the right thing for your friends. This also shows that if you do the right thing, good things will happen to you. The whole story was written in the perspective of the dog. Instead of calling the adults "parents", they were called "big people." And instead of the landscaping being called "grass" and "flowers", he says "green stuff" and "pink things." This is a book that all ages will enjoy!
review 2: Fleabag is a delightful story about a dog who is living a sad life because he has no home and no name. The story talks about how he goes to the park and sees a little boy playing. The little boy is playing alone so the dog decides he will go say hi. The little boy and the dog get along great and become very close friends. After that, the boy and the dog would play often but the parent of the boy was not impressed by this ugly dog who was covered in fleas. One day, the little boy comes to the park feeling sad. Shorty after, Fleabag finds out that his boy is moving. He is very sad. The little boy says his goodbyes, but Fleabag follows him home. Fleabag patiently sits outside his home and watches as all their families things get put into a moving truck. That night, the boy decided to sneak out of the house, but the puppy would not budge because he knew his boy was not supposed to be out that late. He starts to bark and the parents think that he saved the boy, so they keep him. They get him all cleaned up and even remove his fleas. But when they went to give him a name, all they could think of was his cute nickname Fleabag!! Such a cute book! It also have very well done illustrations. I recommend this book to first grade and then you could talk with them about what are fleas and even have a short discussion about pets. less

He looks like my dog, Chaucer, who doesn't have fleas.
