review 1: While this antepenultimate volume does feature some great action, like the previous ones, the true goal of this volume is to bring the major characters together for the final confrontation. As such, the plot movement gets in the way of character development sidelining most of our main characters and only giving brief moments for those who do have an opportunity to shine. It's a solid volume, but not one I'd race back to read except to skim as a refresher before the next volume.
review 2: I like how Hiromu Arakawa brings all of the characters and plot threads together in this the next to last volume of the series.. I'm even wondering if everyone will make it out alive out of the characters whom I am invested in. While the country is torn about by both civ
... moreil war, the homounculus Father's makes his play (that will kill an untold number of innocents) we get action, and a little bit of character work. Scar has grown on me, and I like Izumi even more. Alphonse actually got a chance to shine a little bit here, and it will be interesting to see the cost of his sacrifice in the final volume. less
