Inspector Van Veeteren
review 1: Fifth of Hakan Nesser's Chief Inspector Van Veeteren detective series. The Chief Inspector contemplating retirement takes one final case. He must travel to a far off town to investigate the disappearance of a small girl that was living within a religious cult camp. Seemed to drag on for a lengthy 280 pages and difficult to maintain a good flow while reading. Was rather disappointed with this Nesser novel. 3 stars out of 5, was an okay read especially if your a fan of the Van Veeteren series.
review 2: Another mystery, this time by the Swedish author Hakan Nesser featuring Chief Inspector Van Veeteren, one of Nesser's series about this Inspector. This, like his other stories, are a bit twisted. This one is about some raped and murdered girls staying at a local
... morereligious camp. Some of the characters in the area are fairly extreme so suspicion falls across a wide range of persons. The Inspector ruminates about who the perpetrator might be but not enough information is divulged to the reader to figure it out. Nesser creates enough tension and anticipation so that the reader wants to finish the book, but it's hard to say I really liked the book. less

I did not like this book at all. The book never took shape or built momentum.
